ParaGuard AV Provides 50 ePosters To The BSG Conference at Birminghams ICC
Introduction
The BSG Conference, held at the ICC Birmingham, is a reputable event in the scientific community, bringing together experts to present and discuss new research. A key component of the event is the display of scientific posters, which required a slick ePoster solution to facilitate seamless viewing and presentation. ParaGuard AV was entrusted with providing the necessary support, ensuring that the conference’s technological requirements were met with precision and reliability.
The Brief
The client required 50 ePoster terminals to display a large number of scientific posters in multiple formats. However, unlike previous projects, they requested to use their own proprietary software rather than ParaGuard AV’s in-house system. This posed a significant challenge, as it required extensive pre-event testing and adaptation of the bespoke ePoster terminals to ensure full compatibility.
Another critical aspect of the project was ensuring that the correct posters were displayed at specific times for scheduled poster walks. Given the scale of the event and the need for precise timing, flawless execution was essential to the success of the conference.
Project Complexities and Adaptations
This project stood out due to both its scale and the level of customisation required. In addition to supplying 50 ePoster terminals, ParaGuard AV had to integrate the client’s proprietary software, making necessary modifications to ensure a seamless user experience. Custom branding was implemented to align with the event’s aesthetic, including a bespoke numbering system for each terminal.
One of the key technical adaptations was the development of a swing arm attachment for the screen stands, allowing a remote wireless keyboard to be housed securely. This provided presenters with greater control over their presentations while maintaining a professional and streamlined setup. Additionally, careful planning was required to accommodate all terminals within the limited space available at the venue, ensuring accessibility and ease of navigation for attendees.
Our Role
ParaGuard AV played a crucial role in bringing the client’s vision to life. From the initial planning stages to post-event support, the team worked to ensure every aspect of the project was executed to the highest standard. The process involved rigorous pre-event testing to guarantee software compatibility, as well as detailed coordination to ensure the correct posters were displayed at the right times.
Throughout the event, on-site technical support was provided to address any potential issues, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted experience for presenters and attendees. Once the conference concluded, the team managed the breakdown and removal of equipment, completing the project with the same level of professionalism with which it began.
